The Peace
dollar memorialized the peace following World War I. The
short lived series was minted from 1921-1928 and again in 1934 and
1935. Production levels were generally high for the initial years of
the series, but lowered with the 1928 Peace dollar. Peace dollars,
like the Morgan dollars, contain 90% silver. This was the last
United States dollar coin to be struck for circulation in silver.
